After Arriving from grand detour Deere's family numbering 8 moved in with Tate. A third partner Mr . Gould, friends from Grand Detour joined the Deere Tate partnership. Which of the two partners, Tate or Gould had the idea of dissolving the partnership, history shows that both men had other plans. Mr Gould had been thinking of a factory making wooden ware, tubs, pails, churns, etc as the pine logs were floating right past here and everything is convenient The pail factory was soon a successful operation. The new operation Dimock & Gould still stands near where it originally was built next to Moline Consumers materials at the foot of the I74 bridge. Mr. Tate opted for competition with Deere forming a full line plow company with Charles Buford. Doing business as Buford & Tate.
